See Your First Byline Live at Georgetown University
A panel of journalists will be talking about how to get a job next week.
Your First Byline is hosting our first live event next week at Georgetown University’s main campus in Washington, D.C.
The event, which is free and open to the public, will feature a panel of journalists with varied backgrounds talking about how they got their first job and their advice on how you can get started in the industry.
If you can’t make it, don’t worry! We will be posting some of the advice discussed at the panel afterward here. In addition, you can email questions to yourfirstbyline@gmail.com and we will ask some of our contributors to answer those and questions asked at the event.
The panelists may change, since we’re all in the news business and things happen, but confirmed guests so far include:
Bethany Irvine, Politico producer
Scott Nover, freelance writer
Taylor Giorno, The Hill reporter
Natalie Delgadillo, The 51st co-founder
Courtney Bublé, Law360 reporter
Victoria Chamberlin, Vox
Reese Gorman, NOTUS
The event will start at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 17, at the McShain Small Lounge in McCarthy Hall, near Leo O’Donovan Hall.
